The Universal Declaration of Human Rights turns 59: Come and join an authentic initiative
A virtual manifestation in favor of human rights: Voice your opinion through photographs that show a demand for Human Rights, many of which, after 59 years are violated in different parts of the world.
Being informed is fundamental in order to demand our rights. This is a premise that the Coordinadora d’ONG Solidàries de les comarques gironines i l'Alt Maresme has very clear. In light of the 59th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the said entities have organized a virtual manifestation to ask that human rights and dignity are respected. Together with the Cooperación de l’Ajuntament de Girona office, they have programmed a series of dynamics, festivities and activities to celebrate and demand Human rights.
To participate, send your individual or group pictures and your messages to a virtual world manifestation that can be found at the following flickr link until January 2008:

The Universal Declaration of Human rights (UDHR) is a declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in their Resolution 217 A (III), from December 10, 1948 which states what are considered to be the basic human rights. The union of this Declaration and the International Covenants on Human Rights comprises what is known as the International Bill for Human Rights. And even though it’s almost 60 years old, this Declaration almost 60 years later is still not respected in some parts of the world and needs this virtual proclamation to strengthen its compliance. Therefore:
1. Write a letter
2. Add this address: mani@solidaries.org
3. Attach your picture and your message
4. Send the letter
5. Wait a few days and enter in: www.flickr.com/dretshumans
6. Your picture as well as others that were sent recently to the web page will appear.
Important Note: The Coordinator can use the images sent in to spread the initiative by means of the media. Otherwise, contact: mani@solidaries.org
On December 9th, the day before the Declaration of Human Rights Anniversary, there will be 2 pages in the El PUNT newspaper with a selection of some of the demands and reflexions that were received. Deadline for receiving is January 2008.
