Conflicts and their relation with new technologies in Iwith.org’s course in Universitat de Girona.

Within the framework of the Master and postgraduate studies of resolution of public conflicts, the University of Girona ( UdG) offers four alternatives of specific training in the topic, one of which will be given by Ramón Bartomeus, Resource Manager for  Iwith.org.

Within the framework of postgraduate studies and Master in Community Mediation and Resolution of Public Conflicts offered by the University of Girona (UdG) under the headship of Xavier Pastor, this studies house offers courses related to the subject.

Among them, the course about Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) in and for the management of conflicts will be given by Ramón Bartomeus from Iwith.org. The course teaches how to understand the influences of the Information and Communication Technologies in the creation and evolution of individual and collective problems and conflicts. Moreover, we expect the students to reach knowledges that will allow the intervention in conflicts through analysis, treatment and management. Finally, they will learn how to recognise the resources and tools that these technologies provide to the conflict’s management. The course will take place between the 7th and the 11th of July 2008.

In addition to the iwith.org course, the Universidad de Girona offers:

* Course to specialise on management of the quality control of organizations and social projects.
*Course to specialise on management on conflicts and third sector organisations (association, foundations, ong…).
*Summer course-workshop “Learn to solve conflicts”

• Master and Degree.

The degree of the postgraduate, course under part-time attendance conditions, of Community Mediation and Resolution of Public Conflicts of the UdG will take place between the 17th of October 2008 and the 3rd of July 2009. It’s the first and only postgraduate course that deals with the resolution of conflicts in the public field.

This year will take place again the Master of Community Mediation and Public Conflicts, under full-time attendance conditions. The idea is to continue studying in depth the theoretical and practical knowledges of the management and resolutions of conflicts to qualify expert people of work teams from different institutions, organisations, projects, qualified teachers in general and in the public sector, system and process designers.
