From the 12th to the 14th of November the 5th International Seminar of the UNESCO E-Learning Chair at the UOC
, titled Fighting the Digital Divide through Education, will be held in Barcelona . The event will be attended by international speakers including; TIM UNWIN
, UNESCO Chair in ICT4D at the University of London, Ivan Krstic
, ex-director of security of the One Laptop Per Child
project at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Linda Roberts
, from the Board of Directors of the open education content community Curriki
; and Sugata Mitra
, creator of the "Minimally Invasive Education" concept.
The main focus of the 5th International Seminar of the UNESCO UOC Chair will be aimed at debating different possible solutions to the digital divide problem and cataloging and analyzing successful experiences in which the ICT have played an important role in educational development. The goal of the seminar is to show that education can help fight against the digital divide.
Registration is open until November 10.
