Hacesfalta.org, the internet portal of reference for the 3rd Spanish sector has a new face

“You decide how, when and where” is the slogan of the new 2.0 version of hacesfalta.org the Internet portal acesfalta.org, which, along with technological improvements, incorporates open spaces for users to participate.

Participate is the key word in hacesfalta.org's new web page. The underlying idea is to impulse the citizen's participation in  volunteering and that way boost change and social reflection.

The new Internet portal is 2.0 and thus allows maximum adjustment in  searches according to the preferences of the people that wish to participate in volunteering so they find the option that most applies to them. “We are convinced that the low participation of the Spanish society in volunteering initiatives is not due to lack of interest, rather to the shortage of options to find the adequate opportunity that fits their availability, time, geographical location or their hobbies”, states Arancha Cejudo, responsible of hacesfalta.org. Furthermore, there is a space for companies, so that they can publish job offers related to the social framework.

Windows of citizen participation

One of the most prominent sections is the one that gathers users's experiences. The people that have already carried out any type of volunteering tell and share their stories.

The section of Initiatives is there to make space for all those actions that many of you are already carrying out and for which you need support from other people. Also, there are other participative spaces such as the forum, organized by categories, and the blog, where news related to the social sector can be found.

Since its creation in the year 2000, hacesfalta.org has promoted 2,800,000 contacts between NGO and people interested in volunteer work. It counts on more than 3 million pages visited monthly and 350,000 users. Hacesfalta.org is a  Fundación Chandra project.
