Mobile Phone Recycling Campaign to Protect the Environment

The mobile phones that we all use and enjoy, without thinking much about the production process, are full of the mineral coltrane. The number of genocides in the Congo that are related to the recovery of coltrane grow every day. It is a shame worldwide where other ecological tragedies of great magnitude should also be added. Nevertheless, more than thirty businesses, the majority of them Western, continue importing minerals from the Congo, regardless of such tragic politics. Easy equation.

“Get moving for the jungle” is a campaign of the Jane Goodall Institute in Spain, focusing on the protection of African ecosystems. Through the easy and free recycling of mobile phones, the campaign hopes to achieve “funds for educational, conservation and development projects in the Congo and for the Center of Chimpanzee Recuperation”.

Foundation Iwith.org is already collaborating on the development of the Jane Goodall Institute web page. This time we have joined the campaign, working together on Internet communication and, naturally, participation in the program Ab-core, which may possibly lead to the creation and realization of a new web site http://www.movilizateporlaselva.org/es/quien.html

For the Congo! For Africa! For a better world! Get moving!
