Violence Against Children


The 11th United Nations NGO Forum on Human Rights was held in Stockholm July 6-7, 2000, with the plan to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Now the final report has been published, which will be an interesting resource for organizations working in the area.

The European Union (EU) NGO Human Rights Forum is held each year in the year in the home country of the President of the European Union, in the second semester and is organized jointly by the presidency and by the EU. It’s a forum of dialogues between representatives from civil society, country members of the EU, community and international organizations where practices and experiences about various subjects in relation to the promotion of and protection of human rights.

The forum this year met in Stockholm with 150 participants, including 70 NGO representatives, more than half of the non-member EU states, some 15 representatives of 11 EU member states, and representatives of European institutions. The 11th EU NGO Forum on Human Rights has been dedicated to the perspectives and efforts to combat the violence against children and have celebrated the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child y the 30th anniversary of the first national law that prohibited all forms of corporal punishment of children, which was passed in Sweden.
