Alternative Channel, the international Web-TV on sustainable development and humanitarian causes, and Iwith.org organize the first Alternative Channel Forum in Barcelona. This conference is the result of a long working process, we had the support of many important international organizations, so we have the expectation that you’re interested in taking part and to benefit from that opportunity. 

Taking part at the Forum Alternative Channel includes the opportunity to use web 2.0 , to publish videos in the Internet and to improve your visibility in the internet.

We’re proud to present Rigoberta Menchu Tum, who got the Nobel Prize of Peace for her projects with the indigenous minorities in Guatemala, being the Ambassador Goodwill of the UNESCO, Virgine Louis of the audiovisual communication department of the Red Cross International, Marc Tessier, ex president and general director of France Television and president of the editorial committee of the Alternative Channel, Vicente Verdu, author, journalist for el pais and analyst of social trends.

We’re proud that Jordi Duran i Batidor, founder and CTO, had been one of the contributors and participants of the conference “United Nations Meets Web 2.0 and ICT Entrepreneurs”. There had been many representatives from the private sector, civil society and academia, and members of the Global Alliance – attended the event and engaged in an open and stimulating dialogue on specific ways technology innovators and entrepreneurs can work together to advance and strengthen development in emerging markets. The past days have been very intense, specially as for functional improvements, which at first sight are hard to identify, but have a positive result from a technical point of view.

The Forum Alternative Channel was born with the objective to create a platform, bringing NGO’s and Organizations without seeking profit together with Internet experts, having a social background and professional knowledge about the Web 2.0 as well as social communication professionals. The international event aims to present the latest Internet applications to the actors of the Third Sector, working to sustainable topics and humanitarian actions. A representative example of the web will be the Project Ab•core: it’s a web with tools that have been especially designed for organisations of the Third Sector.

Even tough we started the announcement for the Online Course of the Pla de Formacio of the Voluntaries of the Generalitat of Catalunya, we already can announce another course, with the support of the secretary of Telecommunications and Society of Information (FTIC), starting on the 5th of May: News in the Internet. The Members, voluntaries and collaboration partners can count with a scholarship of 100 percent.  Consider that course's materials are only availble in spanish and catalan.
